Listen back and share
The Takes tab lists every take, newest first, grouped by day.
The list
Each take is named Practice with its date and time until you rename it. The line under the name says which tone you played through and which app the song came from. Click a take to open it. The ··· menu holds Open, Rename…, Show in Finder, and Delete….
Listen back
Open a take and its player takes the list’s place; ‹ Takes goes back. The clocks sit above the bar, which moves while it plays; dragging it plays from there. Under the controls, one slider sets the balance between You and Song.
A take plays back with its own copy of the song, so pause the song in its app first, or you’ll hear it twice. After a take, the Record bar reminds you. Pressing Record pauses a take that is playing back.
Click the take’s name to rename it. Everything you change, including the name, the trim, the balance, and the tone, saves as you make it, so there is no Save button. The player shows ✓ Saved.
Press TRIM to put grips on the ends of the bar. Nothing is cut from the take, so Use the whole take brings it all back. Play and share use the trimmed range.
Try another tone
In the player, the take’s tone sits beside Tone. Click it to open Tone for this take, which holds the same pedal and amp model cards as the Tone tab. Every change plays at once, free, and Preview plays the take from the start. Your take is kept exactly as you played it. Only the tone changes. ‹ Listen back takes you back to the player.
Share or save
Press Share and choose Share your part… or Share your part with the song…. To keep a file instead, choose Save your part… or Save your part with the song…, and pick where it goes.
Afinar never shares or saves the song alone. All four ask you to make sure you’re allowed to use the music, because a song may belong to someone else.
